How Are Self Adjusting Trailer Brakes Activated
Question:
I have a Montana 5th wheel with self adjusting brakes and would like to know whats to be done to make them adjust?

Self adjusting brakes will adjust themselves when the trailer is moving forward and the brakes are applied if the brakes are too loose. Basically if the arm with the magnet moves beyond a certain amount it pulls a cable that clicks the adjuster of the brake assembly tighter by one click every time until the magnet stops moving too far.
