Backup Hitch Camera with Night Vision
Question:
Does this backup camera work at night?
asked by: William U
Expert Reply:
The Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera System # HM50002 does not have the infrared operation necessary for night-vision capability. But we do offer cameras that have this feature, such as the similarly-priced RVS Wireless Hitch Camera # RVS-83112.
The RVS system is shown in detail in the two linked videos I included for you. It features a magnetic base on the camera, which gets power from a 9V battery instead of from wiring you need to install. The camera includes a power-saving auto-off feature. The 6 infrared LEDs (shown in the linked photo) give you up to 30-feet of night vision.
