How Far do Brackets for Pilot Truck Tailgate Net Extend From Tailgate Frame

Question:

I have a Lance truck camper that slides into the bed. Obviously the factory tailgate is removed for this. But when I remove my truck camper Id like to use the tailgate net instead of reconnecting the factory tailgate. I have very little space between the truck camper wall and the tailgate frame. How far out horizontally do the brackets extend. My concern is I will bend the brackets when using the truck camper. Do you know of anyone who has a setup like this and if it worked successfully?

I went out to our warehouse to take a measurement on the brackets for the Pilot Truck Tailgate Net # TR-03 referenced in your question and found that each bracket will extend 3/8 of an inch out from the inside wall of your tailgate. As long as you have at least 3/8 of an inch of clearance on each side of your camper when it's on the truck this will be a really good solution.

Looking through the customer reviews for this product it does look like people have used it for the same application you are wanting it for. One customer in particular sent in a "1 Year Later" review praising the net and saying that he uses it when traveling with his pickup camper.

I have attached an installation video that you can also take a look at.
