Can Marker Light Function be Added with Custom Replacement Towing Mirrors for 2012 Ford F-150
Question:
Hello, I see on a web sight that they sell the tow mirrors with the marker lights on the front for 04 to 14 f150s. and also has the turn signal in it. Now my question is, I know my f150 has the turn signal, heated, and puddle lights in the mirrors, but If I installed these mirror, Would running light work in them or no....Now sure if the wire harness has the maker lights wires in it. I know they did on the 2015 f150 models, but not sure about the 2012 XLT..Thanks

We do have custom replacement towing mirrors available for your 2012 Ford F-150 such as the excellent K-Source # KS61185-86F in Textured Black. These mirrors will retain the turn signal, puddle lights, and heated function of your factory mirrors, however they are not able to add a feature like the marker lights you mentioned if your factory mirrors did not already have them.
This is the case with any aftermarket towing mirror as they will only be able to connect to the wiring/harness that is already present on the truck. If your factory mirrors did not have marker light capabilities then the harness that the new mirrors will plug into simply does not carry this circuit so it would not be added.
Aftermarket mirrors that have marker light capability are pnly able to retain this function if the original mirrors had them as well.
I have attached a short video review on the above-mentioned mirrors that you can also check out.
