Can the Solera Slide-Toppers Withstand Heavy Wind

I full time in my RV and was wondering if it is possible to disconnect these during windy weather to prevent from tearing them up?

It is possible to disconnect the slide-topper in windy weather but there is not exactly an easy way to do this. The process to disconnect the slide-topper would essentially be the opposite of the install process as that is what you will be doing. I might also add that this will most likely require two people to accomplish.
There is a pre-set tension on all of the Solera Slide-Toppers and they are made of a much heavier 13.5 oz fabric that has a five year warranty so there should not be too much of a concern with the fabric tearing. If it does however tear then you can replace just the fabric without the entire assembly. We haven't had any complaints of the fabric tearing within reason.
If your box width which is taken from the outside edges of the slide measures to be between 62"and 67-3/4" then the Solera 6' Slider (Slide-Topper) part # LCV000231482 is correct for you.
