Loose Tension Chain on the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains
Question:
I ordered two sets of these chains for an upcoming road trip through Montana and Washington state. While dry fitting them, I noticed one set of the chains ends up with a loose tensioner chain after installing them after going through the two red loops, while the other set is tights. My tires are all the same size, is it possible I just need to adjust where the rubber tensioner connects to the chain? Or are there other areas to adjust this? Ive attached a photo of the loose fit set. Thanks!

I would first check to make sure that you received the same size chain in both kits. There should be a two digit number on the green hooks, as long as they all match then this is not the issue. I would then check to make sure all tires are the same brand, even if they are all the same size there could be some discrepancy in regards to physical size.
Once these are both checked then you may just have the chain slightly off center on the tire so I recommend just taking it off and then reinstalling. Please note that it is recommended that you pull forward a few feet in order to let the chains reset and then tighten as need.
If after all this you still have more slack then you would like on the tension chain, you can wrap it around the yellow part of the chain on the next section and then bring it over and across to the other side. I spoke with Titan and they informed me that this is common practice for a loose tension chain. They however do not recommend modifying where the rubber strap attaches to the tensioner chain.
