How Tall is the B&W Companion Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter RVK3500

Question:

Hi there.. what is the depth adjustment on the 3500 model from the floor line to the center of the pin which holds it in place..? I have a 09dodge Ram but I have a aluminum flat bed on it which sits higher than a normal bed.. from my floor to the center of the pin is 7 inches.. will this hitch work for my truck..?

The B&W Companion Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter part # BWRVK3500 that you referenced has a vertical adjustment from 16-1/4" - 18-1/4". Please also keep in mind that the base will require a 36" long x 30-1/2" wide opening.

If the opening on your flatbed is not this large then you would need to look at the B&W Companion Flatbed Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter part # BWRVK3050 which will only requires a 18" long x 18" wide opening. This unit however is only 10-1/2" tall from the base to the skid plate. You would most likely need to adjust the height of your trailer in order to make this unit work for you but then again it may be your only option if the cutout in your flatbed is not 36" long x 30-1/2" wide.

I would also like to mention that either hitch will require a flat surface under the base of the unti so you are going to have to fabricate something like this in order to make them work for you.
