Can Hollywood Racks Bike Rack/Cargo Carrier be Used to Carry a Scooter on a 2017 Ford Transit

Hi. We have a Ford Transit 2017 cargo van. We bought our 2 inch hitch and harness from you. We are wondering if you have a cargo carrier aluminum, but will go with steal if thats all available combined with a scooter carrier. It would solve our problems, needing outside storage and for hauling future purchase of a scooter. The scooter would be like a Yamaha SMAX, but not this exact one. This is just an example so you know what I mean by a scooter.

Since the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 has only been tested and rated for use with the Hollywood Racks Cargo Carrier you can really combine anything else together outside of those 2 components with the part # HR1450Z-85 that you referenced. When used together the weight rating for the carrier is only 90 lbs.

The other thing to note is that the whole unit weighs in at about 110 lbs and a brand new Yamaha SMAX weighs in at 328 lbs when it is ready to go. This means that you will have 438 lbs of tongue weight on your 2017 Ford Transit before even loading up your bikes. Some of the Transit models have higher weight ratings but none of them match the 900 lb tongue weight rating of the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13193 that you purchased so you will be limited by the tongue weight rating of your Transit.

Knowing all of this, the best solution would be for you to use a small utility trailer like the Detail K2 Mighty Multi A-Frame Utility Trailer # K2MMT5X7 to safely tow all of your equipment. I saw that you not only purchased the trailer hitch but you also purchased the Curt T-Connector # C56327. This means that all you need to tow a small trailer is a ball mount kit like what comes in part # 989900.
