Will the Thule OutWay 3 Bike Rack Fit on a 2011 VolksWagen Jetta Sportwagen TDI

will this rack fit a 2011 jetta sportwagen tdi? can you open hatch back with the rack and bikes on? thank you

Yes, Thule does recommend the use of the Thule OutWay 3 Bike Carrier, # TH56BV, on the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen. This rack is very easy to install and remove.
If you will be carrying women's, children's, or alternative frame bikes, I recommend the Bike Adapter Bar, # TH982XT, in order to carry the bikes more level. I have included a link to a video that shows how the adpater bar works.
I do not recommend opening the rear hatch of the vehicle with the bike rack or bike rack and bikes attached. The weight of the rack alone could cause the rear hatch to come down and possibly injure someone, or the lift cylinders could be damaged causing the hatch not to operate properly.
