Recommended Bike Rack for 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
Hello Sir, I am looking for a bike rack for my Jeep GC 2015. This is my first time to search for the product on the internet. I came across etrailer and found all good reviews. Can you please recommend the best applicable bike carrier for my car. could you please describe the difference between TH9031XT and TH934XTR. These look similar but the price diff is big. Secondly, what is recommended? rear rack and roof rack? looking for your expert advise at the earliest possible in order to make an order for the bike rack. Best Regards

If you have a trailer hitch receiver like # 75699 on your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the rear mounted bike rack is by far the better option over a roof mounted rack. The hanging style racks are very easy to use and hold the bikes by the frame rails so they work well for most bikes. The Thule Hitching Post Pro - Folding Tilting 4 Bike Rack w Anti-Sway # TH934XTR is a great basic bike rack. I recommend using the Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device # THSTL2 to secure the rack to your vehicle and then use a cable lock like # e98891 to secure the bikes to the rack. This rack will have folding arms when not in use and will allow you to tilt the rack away from your vehicle to access the rear hatch when bikes are not loaded.
The Thule Apex Swing 4 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches - Swinging # TH9027XT is quite an upgrade from that rack with better spacing between the bikes, the integrated cable lock, and the swing away feature that will allow you to access your hatch cargo area with or without bikes loaded.
With either of these options, I recommend the Swagman Deluxe Bike Frame Adapter Bar for Women's, Children's, and Alternative Frame Bikes # 64005. This creates a top frame rail for more level transport and ground clearance.
Another great option is the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 4-Bike Platform Rack - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # HR1400Z which is able to tilt away while loaded for cargo access and able to fold for storage when not in use. This rack comes with the locks included and can be used as a 2 bike or 4 bike rack.
