Caster Wheel for Jack on 6 x 12 Enclosed Trailer
Question:
I’m going to install this on a Wells Cargo 6x12 enclosed trailer. I usually have my Harley street glide in it, but I’d like a wheel that can handle the weight. Will this work or do I need a foot instead?

You can add a caster wheel like # JC-101 to the Rack'Em B-52 Round A-Frame Trailer Jack # RA-29 but doing so will reduce the jack's tongue weight (TW) capacity because all caster wheels are rated for less weight than standard foot plates. The jack itself is rated for 5000-lbs but all caster wheels are rated for less weight, generally no more than 1200-lbs as with wheel # BD500245.
If you have a tongue weight scale like # e99044 you can measure the loaded trailer to confirm what its actual TW is and this will tell you if it is okay to use a 1500-lb caster. Based on the typical 1200-to-1800-lb weight for a 6 x 12-ft enclosed trailer you should have plenty of safety margin even with the bike inside the trailer.
