What Lighting System is on a 2003 Cadillac Escalade

Question:

Hi, I have a 2003 Cadillac Escalade base model where i’m trying to figure out how I can configure the rear turn signal lights so that it’s only “on” and flashing when i’m making either a left or right turn. Right now the turn signals are illuminated all the time and will thus flash when making a turn. I need them to only illuminate/flash when making a turn. Will this device help out on my problem? Thanks.

The tail lights on your 2003 Cadillac Escalade use a seperate lighting system which means the turn signal and brake lights are on different circuits. The runnings lights will be carried on the brake light circuit. I am not sure what you mean or the issue you are having but the turn signal bulb, not to be confused with the brake/running light bulb should only illuminate while the turn signal is active. If it this is not the case then you have an issue and will need to take the vehicle into you local mechanic to have the wiring inspected.

The Vehicle to Vehicle Tail Light Converter part # 118158 that you reference is designed to separate the brake and turn signals into different circuits.
