Can 20,000 lb Fifth Wheel Trailer be Towed by Truck

Question:

Hello, Id like to buy a 20000 pound toy hauler fifth wheel but would like to use a used truck, ideally under 20-25k. What would you recommend, please? Would some of the ~08 or older/newer 1 ton dually trucks be sufficient, please? Any engines/models that I should stay away from, please? What should I equip the truck with? Dont plan to do much driving in the mountains. Appreciate!!

Toy haulers that weigh 20,000 lbs are going to be pretty hard to tow with an older truck. It's only in the past few years have some of the 3500 series trucks with diesel engines have enough capacity to tow a 20,000 lb trailer.

Basically you are going to need a diesel engine truck with a long bed and a dually rear wheel setup. I attached an article on how to pick out a truck for a fifth wheel trailer for you to check out as well.
