How to Select the Correct Width of Vinyl Trim Insert
Question:
How to measure the track to insure getting the vinyl proper size
asked by: Jack
Expert Reply:
The best way to select the correct size vinyl trim insert is to measure the trim insert you have now while flat, not the track. We don't really recommend measuring the track as they are not all a standard width. However, there are generally three different sizes of vinyl trim used, 3/4" wide, 7/8" wide, and 1" wide. The outer track width is likely to be around 1/4" wider than the trim insert.
Therefore, if the track measures to be around 1-1/4" wide then you most likely need the 1" wide trim part # CAM25093 but if the track measures to be around 1" wide then you most likely need the 3/4" wide trim part # CAM25153.
