Can Curt Raw Finish Receiver Hitch be Drilled

Can you drill through this steel? With normal household drill bits?

The raw finish Curt receiver hitch, part # C49360, can be drilled with a stainless steel or caride drill bit. You'll probably want to use penetrating oil as well.
You didn't say why you're drilling into it but if it's to bolt it on instead of welding it I wouldn't recommend that. Drilling is going to reduce the capacity of the receiver to an unknown amount and could compromise its integrity.
