Is Sidewinder And Elite Hitch Best Option for Towing Fifth Wheel Trailer with 2015 Ram 2500

Question:

To answer your first question, yes, Sidewinder/5th Airborne pin boxes are very sturdy. They have quite a bit more capacity than your 11k trailer would require too. There are 20k versions of the Sidewinder like the part # RP34FR but it does not come with the cushioned feature. For an 11k trailer though the 16k options would be more than adequate. The Reese hitch part # RP37FR is a fantastic option for connecting to a Sidewinder. It's very solid and provided a tight king pin to hitch connection. It also fits directly to the Ram rail kit package of your 2015 Ram 2500. The correct wedge then to use with this hitch is the part # SWW-01. Sidewinders are pin box specific so you will first need to know what pin box you have now in order to pick out the correct one. There should be a sticker or a stamping on the OEM pin box of the trailer that will list the pin box number that is on the trailer. Once you figure out which pin box you have you can check the FAQ I attached that has a chart that shows the correct Sidewinder to get based on which pin box you have. For short bed trucks the best option is the Sidewinder setup. You get the clearance of a slider hitch, the convenience of a fixed hitch, and the automatic operation of an auto slider. It really is the best of all worlds.

Sorry for the confusion on that. The product page it said you came from was the non-cushioned Sidewinder but the 5th Airborne Sidewinder part # RP34FR would be a great option. The Reese hitch part # RP37FR that you referenced does fit directly to the Ram rail kit you have in your truck bed as well.
