Electric Fan Kit Recommendation for 1981 Pontiac Firebird
Question:
Hi. Is it possible to add clutch to fan without chlutch? My Firebird has crate engine and previous owner put fun running by belt. It gives a power to water pump also. Thanks

Most people when upgrading either type of belt driven fan end up going with a totally electric setup as that's far superior to both. We don't have a way to upgrade a belt driven fan to a fan clutch setup but we can help convert to an electric fan which will cool better and free up horsepower.
For that you'd want a fan kit with an electric thermostat like the Flex-a-lite Direct Fit LoBoy Electric Fan with Adjustable Thermostat Controller # FLX318. This comes with a thermostat so that you can set when it comes on and off and also pulls 2,500 CFM which would be enough for a small block what your Firebird has.
