Recommended Curt Pin Box Replacement for 1621 Pin Box on Heartland Oakmont 345RS 5th Wheel
Question:
Looking at some info regarding replacement pin boxes for my 2014 Oakmont 345RS, it appears as though I can use either the LC328492 18K or LC158778 21K, is that correct? And secondly, why would the 21K box be less money than the 18K box?, that seems counter intuitive to me. Regards

The Curt Flex Air 5th Wheel Pin Box - Lippert 1621 - 18,000 lbs # LC328492 or the Curt Air Ride 5th Wheel Pin Box - 21,000 lbs # LC158778 will work as a replacement for your Heartland Oakmont 345RS which looks to have a GVWR of 15,500 lbs.
The difference in these pin boxes is more than capacity and price. They are different in that the 18K is a Flex Air which means it has a pivoting head along with a rubber compound built into the head to absorb road shock and limit chucking. This is a really nice feature, so I recommend going with the Flex Air # LC328492 for that additional comfort and control.
