Recommended Shank Replacement for Reese Steadi-Flex System with 2-1/2 Inch Hitch Receiver
Question:
Can the shank on the Reese RP 66560 be replaced with the RP 54977 shank to allow use with a Class V hitch receiver without the adapter?
asked by: Larry D
Expert Reply:
The shank on the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control - Trunnion - 12K GTW, 1.2K TW # RP66560 requires a flat front for the head adjustment so the Reese # RP54977 will not work. You can alternatively use the Curt Weight Distribution Shank for 2-1/2" Hitches # C17132 or # C17131 for compatibility.
