Troubleshooting Dim LED Lights on Boat Trailer

Question:

I purchased LED trailer lights for my boat trailer because my old one stopped working from the water. So i put these lights on pvc so they wont go in the water, i ran all new wires and grounds and when i plug it into my truck a dim light comes on, on the side of the light. When i press the break or put on the turn signals they dont work but there is a dim light on. I am very confused and i know i installed it all correctly could you please help me.

If the new LED lights you attached to PVC posts on your boat trailer are dim when powered by your truck then most likely the issue is a weak ground.

Check to make sure each of the new LED assemblies are properly grounded to a clean bare metal surface on the trailer free of any debris or corrosion. If by chance you have an aluminum trailer, you will want to run the grounds to the main ground circuit on the trailer connector as aluminum isn't the best conductor of electricity.

If this does not help please let me know and we can continue to troubleshoot.
