Tail Lights Go Dim with Headlights On
Question:
I have a 4 pole connector on 2012 ford escape and a 6 pole rectangle on the trailer. When plugged in with the headlights on the turn signals and brake lights cannot be seen. What part do I need to fix that?

Generally speaking, when a trailer is plugged in and the lights go dim this points to signs of a bad ground. I would first start off by making sure you have the correct trailer connector adapter which should be the Adapter 4 Way Flat to 6 Way Square part # 30104. Once this is checked you then need to move onto the grounds. There can be a ground for each trailer connector and each tail light. I recommend removing each of these, sanding down the surface, and then using new mounting hardware.
