Which Way Does Starwheel of Trailer Brake Assemblies Adjust to Tighten
Question:
Had problem with Caravan left side wheel over heating getting very warm, took to caravan repair shop and they replaced both backing plates, machine drums pad and magnet faces now right hand wheel has got to 106 degree Celsius after 1500 kilometres with very little braking applications. Bearings also new. The caravan repair shop also adjusted park brake which I need to check when van out of storage. Also which direction of adjusting star wheel increases brake pad pressure? Up or Down and are both star wheels adjusted in the same direction? Many thanks

If you check out the 4:39 mark of the video I attached you'll see how to adjust the brake star wheel. Pulling the star down pushes the pads out and would be the same on either side of the trailer. 106 Celsius is pretty hot. Something might be dragging so I'd recommend checking everything out.
