Determining Correct Hitch Lock to Use with Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack on Hyundai Elantra

Hi, I have a 2011 Hyuandai Elantra and I found the right hitch but I wanted to know which locking mechanisms will work with the hitch. Can you forward your recommendations? I want one that locks the rack into the hitch and then threads through the bikes. Thanks

Most hitch-mounted bike racks feature a threaded hitch pin hole in the shank that make it so only their own hitch locks will be compatible. With this in mind the correct hitch lock for your application will have less to do with the hitch itself and much more to do with the particular bike rack you are using or plan to use.

If you can tell me what model bike rack you have or the model you're looking to purchase I will be happy to recommend the correct hitch lock.

For example the Swagman Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable # S64030 that you were looking at is designed to work only with Swagman bike carriers that slide into 2 inch hitch receivers.

It sounds like you are also wanting a cable lock that actually weaves through the bikes to lock them to the rack. For this a standard cable lock like the etrailer.com # e98891 will work perfectly. A lot of bike racks though do either have an integrated cable lock or one that is designed to work specifically with it so again if you can tell me what you currently have I will be happy to see if there is an even better option.
