Recommended Weight Distribution System for Race Trailer with Loaded Weight 13,000 to 14,000 lbs
Question:
Hi, I just purchased a race trailer that weighs 10,000lbs and with my car and equipment in it we are looking in the 13,000-14,000lbs range. I have a 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Classic truck and I was curious on which sway bar and weight distribution setup would be best for me? My trailer has a 2 5/16 Coupler

For your race trailer with weight between 13,000 and 14,000 lbs, the total tongue weight is normally between 10 and 15 percent of that when fully loaded and including cargo behind the rear axle of your truck. My recommendation is the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control # BXW2000 which is rated for tongue weights between 1,500 and 2,000 lbs. Then you will use hitch ball # 63847 to work with your trailer coupler.
This system has brackets that are utilized for sway control. I've attached a couple of videos to assist. I've also attached an article to help.
