The 2-inch version of the Everthere # X12-BAR Replacement Support Bar, which was part X12-BAR-2, is no longer available. For safety reasons I cannot recommend you substitute an alternate part so what I recommend is a new 2-inch carrier that will not need any adapter to fit your 2-inch hitch. You're right that getting rid of the adapter will reduce wobble.

One of the most cost-effective 2-inch hitch carriers is the lightweight Curt folding aluminum carrier # C18100 which measure 19 x 60-inches and that weighs only 29-lbs. This includes pre-drilled holes along the sidewalls for tie-down points and its aluminum construction means it can never rust.

With it you can use Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # 63232 which will both lock the carrier and provide anti-rattle stabilization. You can also use a cargo net like # C18202 to steady your loaded cargo.
