Well you're right that it's not EZ1! In fact, Roadmaster quit using the EZ4 and EZ5 names in the baseplates. Now they're called Crossbar-Style and Direct-Connect because it's more clear.
The main difference between the two styles, part # RM-521453-4 for the Crossbar-Style and # RM-521453-5 for the Direct-Connect style, base plate kits is how they connect to the tow bar. The Crossbar-Style kit uses Roadmaster's tow bars that have a crossbar to make the connection. They also fit the Roadmaster Quick Disconnects.. The Direct-Connect kit doesn't use the Quick Disconnects but uses pins and clips instead and has lugs on the tow bar that fit directly into the base plate brackets. Take a look at the picture I attached to see the difference.
If you don't already have them already there's a few more parts you need to flat tow your Jeep.
The tow bar I recommend with either base plate kit is the Sterling All Terrain, part # RM-576. It's non-binding so it's easier to release when parked on uneven ground. It also includes safety cables and the plug to connect the Jeep to the motorhome. There's also a 6-way connector that installs on the front of the Wrangler. Use wiring harness # TR118821 to power the lights along with the motorhome's. I recommend cutting off the harness's 4-way and using the 6-way that comes with the Sterling. You also need to install Roadmaster's Brake Lite relay, part # RM-88400.
The braking system I recommend is the Stay-IN-Play DUO, part # SM99251. It's a permanent install so once it's in you barely have to worry about it.
I've also attached a link to our selection of high-low adapters. There's a good chance you'll need one to keep the tow bar level when everything is connected. I've also attached links about flat towing, including one to help you select the high-low you need.
