Does RV Propane Detector Need to be Super Close to Gas Appliances to Function

Question:

I have a vintage trailer with the propane gas detector located just inside the exterior door. It is at floor level and around the corner from the range, fridge and range. My concern is the detectors lack of direct proximity to the appliances as well as the vapors being diluted by air leakage around the door seals. Should I consider a new location for the detector? Thank you.

Our propane detectors like the Dometic part # AT32703 that you referenced is designed to detect levels as low as 30 ppm which means that even if your detector is super close to the appliances the sensor is sensitive enough that it will still do it's job well.
