Choosing the Correct Shank for the Curt MV Weight Distribution System
Question:
The ball mounted on the vehicle measures 18 inches using the lowest hole on the and the top of the hitch measures 16 inches. Is that exceptable??? Or do I need to purchase a different ??

In order to receive the best performance of your Curt MV Weight Distribution System part # C17051 I recommend using the Curt Weight Distribution Shank part # 17120. This is going to allow you to lower the trailer hitch ball an additional 2" so it is level with the trailer. If you were to tow the trailer unlevel, the amount of trailer sway you experience would almost certainly be higher than with the trailer level.
