2-Bike Platform Hitch Rack for 2006 Jeep Wrangler with 33-Inch Spare Tire

Question:

Hi I am looking to purchase your Hollywood Racks TRS SE 2-Bike Platform Rack - 2inch Hitches. I have a 33 inch tire on the back. Will this rack work? From the end of the hitch to end of the tire its about 8 inches, so from the pin maybe its 8.5 to 9. If this does not fit what other racks will you recommend with a tray around the same price. I am okay if the first bike is snug against the tire. Thank you

The Hollywood Racks TRS SE 2-Bike Platform Rack # HR3500 provides 8-1/2-inches of clearance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the rack, which is the main pivot assembly. This will not provide a good fit on your Jeep based on your measurement.

I recommend the Swagman E-Spec 2 Bike Platform Rack # S94FR since it offers 15-1/2-inches of clearance. You can confirm the fit by measuring from the center of your hitch pin hole to rear edge of the tire, as shown in the linked article.

Like the TRS, the Escapee is a wheel-mount rack that offers high bike weight capacity. The Swagman handles two bikes of up to 60-lbs each (50-lbs each on the TRS) and it works with bike wheelbases up to 51-inches (only 48-inches for the TRS).
