Could 2014 Toyota Tundra with 5-1/2 ft Bed Tow Gooseneck Trailer
Question:
I have a 2014 crew max tundra with a back rack and a 20inch crossover tool box installed. Its at 5 1/2foot bed, I want to install a gooseneck hitch. I dont want to have to remove the tool box to haul the trailer. Is this at all possible? I dont have the trailer yet. The trailer purchase depends on your response. Thanks in advance.

You do have a challenging setup for towing a gooseneck trailer, but if the trailer has a tapered nose like what you see on stock trailers and not a wider nose like what you see on horse trailers with living quarters you should be fine. Installing the Draw Tite Gooseneck Hitch part # 9465-36 is a fit for your 2014 Toyota Tundra 5-1/2 foot bed but since your bed is so short in length you'll want the offset ball extension # 19308 too. With this extension your toolbox would not be an issue either.
