Does Brake Controller Affect Towing Trailer with 4-Way Wiring Connector
Question:
My 2001 Tundra has the factory tow package installed with the 4 pin connector. Once the wiring for the brake controller Prodigy P3 is all done, is the use of the controller required for 4-Pin trailers without brakes to enable the brake lights and signals or can I leave the controller at home? Thanx!

Expert Reply:
If you installed a P3 brake controller # 90195 in your vehicle and then went to tow a trailer with a 4-way connection the brake controller would not be in use at all so if you wanted to remove it from the vehicle at that time you certainly could.
