Does the Stabil-Step Stabilizer Jack # JSS-7 Have to be Installed on the Step with Mounting Hardware

The Stabil-Step Stabilizer Jack # JSS-7 would just be placed under your step. You can use the holes you are looking at to mount this to a board for extra stability if you would like. Attached is a picture that a customer sent in where they mounted a board to the bottom for a greater surface area.
