What Type of Trailer Pin Box Will Give Additional Turning Clearance

Question:

1. My Truck, 2007 Quad cab with 69.3inch bed length. Ive already installed my Drawtite Manual Slider, which puts the pin 32inch from rear glass when in tow position 44inch from rear glass when in temporary use position. 2. Trailer Specs, /2007/Ameri-Camp/M-27-RL Cant determine hitch protrusion from factory, has not been modified. Question: What size of Pin Box do I need, or model I would take 32inch - 4inch allowance, which would give 28inch of room and I would need a Pin Box that gives me 20+ inches to make up for the 48inch half width of the trailer?

The only type of pin box we offer that's going to give you additional turning clearance will be a Sidewinder pin box. Sidewinders move the pivot point back 22-1/2 inches which will give you all the clearance you'll need to make tight turns with a short bed truck.

You will need to remove the pin box of the trailer and replace it with a Sidewinder pin box. Sidewinders are pin box specific so you will first need to know what pin box you have now in order to pick out the correct one.

There should be a sticker or a stamping on the OEM pin box of the trailer that will list the pin box number that is on the trailer.

Once you figure out which pin box you have you can check the FAQ I attached that has a chart that shows the correct Sidewinder to get based on which pin box you have.
