Options for Installing Diode Style Tow Bar Lighting on 2005 Volkswagen New Beetle

Question:

Ive harness in place, 4 diodes 2 for r and l brake and turn. Brown wire to landr tail ligts. The lights all work when you turn lights on in car but tail lights dont work from motorhome. I have diodes on both tail lights, but wont work from motor home. Power is in out of all 4 diodes.do I need a converter?

The easiest way to use diode tow bar wiring on a vehicle that has separate turn signals from stoplights is to wire the vehicle up like it's combined. This will operate the stoplights of the vehicle as if they are combined which will work well. You can still wire up the system to use separate turn signals but you need a total of 6 diodes and a converter box. The diagram I attached shows how to wire up the vehicle in the way I would recommend which is as combined circuits.
