Installation of Brake Controller On My 2000 Ford F-150 w/ 4-way
Question:
I watched your trailer brake controller installation video for a 2001 F150. Is the installation the same for my 2000 F150? Mine also has a port next to the diagnostic port and currently has a 4-flat pin connector. Thanks,

Yes, the installation of a brake controller on a 2001 Ford F-150 is the same as that on a 2000 F-150.
The correct adapter to plug into brake controller port underneath your dash is the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers, part # 3035-P.
To complete the wiring and installation on your truck, you will also need the Ford Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness, part # 118242, which will give you a 7-way at the rear of your truck.
If you do not already have a brake controller, I would recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, part # 90885, which is a proportional brake controller. This controller is one of our most popular controllers for its user friendly features and ease of setup.
I have linked the video installation of brake controller on a 2001 Ford F-150. Also linked is an FAQ on installing brake controllers on Ford Trucks.
