Recommended Platform Bike Rack for Two Electric Bikes with Fenders and Step-Through Frame
Question:
I am looking for a 2” hitch mounted platform bike carrier. I will be carrying two electric assist bike weighing about 52lbs each and they have fenders. The other issue is that one is a step through so no cross tube at all. Is there anything out there that will take the weight and not have to remove the fenders to use? Thanks

I have the perfect bike rack for you!
For your 2 electric assist bikes with fenders I recommend the Saris Freedom 2 Bike Platform Rack # SA4412B. This particular carrier uses soft rubber cradles with cushioned straps that will grip your bikes by either their top tubes OR downtubes, so your bike with the step through frame will work just fine. Because it still secures to the frame and not the wheels, you also won't have to worry about the front fenders on your bikes. It features a weight capacity of 60 pounds per bike so you are good to go on that end as well. I have attached an image that shows this carrier being used on a bike with a step through frame just so you can get a better idea as to how it will work for yours.
I do recommend adding the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock # SA3022 to secure the rack to your vehicle and the Cable Lock # SA981 to secure the bikes to the rack.
I have also attached a short video demonstration on the rack that you can check out.
