Brake Controller Install Harness for Prodigy P3 for 1999 Ford F-53 Motorhome
Question:
i purchased a tekonsha primus 90160 and also the wiring harness 3035-p for my 19 99 ford f53 motorhome ..my question is inside the box there is a note saying ford added a wire to the stoplight switch on late model trucks and suv vehicles starting in 1998 on thru 2005 the wire is red with a green stripe and is only hot when the brake pedal is depressed .when the pedal is not depressed this wire goes directly to ground.using this wire for the RED stoplight connection on this electronic brake controller will cause a s short to ground when manual control is actuated THIS WILL DESTROY THE UNIT...anyway will the cable part no 3035-p eliminate this situation because the unit comes with a cable that must be hard wired in.
