Troubleshooting Lippert Stabilizer Jack that Operates Randomly on its own

the unit turns on independently and on some bumps the red jacks down light flashes on. any ideas

It sounds like you have a short on the wiring for your Lippert Stabilizer Jack, like part # LC298707.

I spoke with my contact at Lippert who said that the wires on the switch for the extend/retract operations are likely touching which is causing your jack to randomly operate.

Check your wiring between the motor, switch, and your battery for any places where the wiring is exposed or damaged and replace as necessary. This should fix your problem and allow your jack to operate normally again.
