Recommended Trailer Dolly for 2005 Jayco Tent Trailer

Question:

I have a 2005 Jayco Baja 10Z offroad trailer. Was looking at the tow hitch dollys but I see a weight problem and most dont recommend these for moving tent trailers around. What do you suggest to make the job of moving around driveway/garage easier? Double wheel or steel wheel? Thanks

Using a trailer dolly is a great way to maneuver a trailer like yours around a driveway or garage (or any other tight spaces). The highest rated standard trailer dolly we have is the Rack'em # RA20. This particular dolly features a maximum tongue weight capacity of 500 pounds, which should be more than enough for your tent trailer so it will work just fine. Keep in mind that a trailer's tongue weight is typically around 10 to 15 percent of its total weight. The overall trailer weight does not matter for this dolly - you can pull as much as you are physically able as long as the tongue weight limit is not exceeded. It is equipped with a 13 inch rubber tire for easy operation. The rubber tire will provide better traction over a variety of surfaces.

I have attached a short video demonstration that you can also check out.

Another really nice option is the Trailer Valet XL Trailer Dolly # TVXL2 with a 2 inch ball or # TVXL25 with a 2-5/16 inch ball. These feature a chain drive system that is powered by an easy-to-use hand crank so that you can drive and steer the trailer with minimal effort. A great thing about this unit is that it also includes drill bits that will let you operate the dolly with your power drill for even easier maneuvering. It is equipped with dual positraction wheels.

I have attached a short video demonstration on this product as well.
