Recommended Hitch Mounted Bike Rack for RadCity Step-Thru Electric Commuter Bike

Question:

Would this carrier Item # SA4412B be appropriate for a Rad City Step through EBike? Weight 61 lbs with no cross tube. Using with 2014 Subaru Outback 2inch receiver. Thanks!

The Saris Freedom 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # SA4412B is compatible with bikes up to 60 lbs. Unfortunately your bike is just over that, so unless you can reduce the weight of the bike by removing the battery, I recommend the Thule EasyFold XT 2 Electric Bike Platform Rack # TH903202 which is compatible with bikes up to 65 lbs and will not require any adapter bar. This will fully secure your bike by the frame and allow you to easily load your bike as well. It has many features the other bike carriers do not, so I've attached a video to assist.

The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HLY74FR is compatible with bikes up to 80 lbs each and the Swagman E-Spec 2-Electric Bike Platform Rack # S94FRis compatible with bikes up to 70 lbs each. Either of these bike racks will work well, but they will most likely required the Swagman Deluxe Bike Frame Adapter Bar for Women's, Children's, and Alternative Frame Bikes # 64005 to create a top rail for the bike between the handlebars and seat post. This will add stability to the transport of your bike.

Am interested in the saris clamp EX 2 bike rackSa4025f. Have a rad city stepThru with a 7” fender in the front and a full fender in the Back. My manual says bike weight 65” and battery weight Of 7.7 “, will be transporting Without the battery so it would weigh less than 60”.

With a wheel mount rack like the Saris SuperClamp EX, I'm worried about the fenders on your Rad City. Ideally the hooks would clamp down further up the wheel than would be possible with a bike like this, so I think a better option here is with the Saris Freedom # SA4412B. It has a 60 pound per bike capacity and its adjustable clamps would be able to attach to the frame - even on step-thru models like yours.
