Battery Charger Setup for Vehicle with Battery Bank and Possible Use of Solar Panels

Question:

VERY Confused, with so many “options” to Charge Dual 12V DC batteries in vehicle. I am EXTREMELY Space-Limited as well as Budget-constrained. Considering a low aH, high CCA motorcycle-type battery as a less expensive alternative to an Odyssey for “Starting” duties due to SIZE. A high output Alternator. POSSIBLY Solar Panel for emergency. A large Deep Cycle battery for “House” duty. May or may not have access to AC power for conventional Chargers/Maintainers. So, given all of that, what would be the Most SUITABLE “Management” products ? Thank You

It really depends on what the battery application is on your tow vehicle, the amount of amperage they will draw in regular use and whether or not your alternator will be able to provide the additional juice needed.

The best solution we have is the Redarc Charger part # 331-BCDC1225D which is basically designed exactly for your application. This is a dual input charger you install on your vehicle that you can run alternator power and solar power to if needed. It's ideal for battery banks rated between 75 and 200 amp-hours.
