Recommended Performance Tuner for 2014 Ram 1500 5.7 4x4 For Towing and Fuel Economy

The truck has the optional “Tow” button and eco cylinder deactivation. It is a daily highway/city driver. Frequent road trips. And not often enough, boat puller at about 3000 and 5000 lbs. Are tow and eco functions retained with a tune and what would the most effective tuner be? Looking for economy on the road and power with the load. Mileage varies wildly between pulling in the hills and running downwind empty on the plains. Lifetime average is about 18 mpg.

I reached out to my tech contact at Edge and they said the best option for your vehicle is the Edge Gas Evolution CS2 Performance Tuner- Color Screen # EP85450 for the larger screen with swipt or # EP85350 for the slightly smaller screen with buttons. This will give you 4 pre-loaded tunes - economy, towing, performance, and extreme. This tuner will give you up to 23 hp increase as well as up to 46 foot lbs torque. The tuner will give you better economy and better towing than the tow button and eco cylinder deactivation according to my contact. He said the with the tuner there is no need to use those buttons and you can simply select your desired tune on the tuner for your desired needs on your daily driver.
