Is Replacement Gearbox Necessary When Replacing Landing Gear Motor
Question:
Im getting ready to replace the landing gear motor with the lg-196308 motor my question is my gear box is very old 1987 it looks like 2 pieces of metal with gears in the middle the gearbox still works. Are the new gear boxes better than this old one. THANK YOU

Helpful Expert Reply:
When replacing a motor you do not necessarily need to replace the gearbox if yours is working well. We do not have any confirmed fits for Atwood landing gear although customers in the past have used Gearbox # LG-179015 or # LC276602 with theirs so they might work for you. The term "better" is relative because if yours works fine there isn't really a reason to change it.
