Ball and Coupler Recommendation for a Trailer with 2-1/2 inch Channel

Question:

Looking for trailer coupler with 2inch ball, 2.5inch channel and spacing between mounting holes 2.5. So far I only find with 3inch spacing between holes and only the 1 7/8inch ball couplers have 2.5inch spacing. Any options or ideas?

One idea would be for you to install the Dutton-Lainson Trailer Coupler # DL13847 that you referenced since it will match the 2.5 inch channel. Once you get a 1-7/8 inch ball for your ball mount and you should be ready to go. I attached a page that has all of the 1-7/8 inch balls we offer and an FAQ page on hitch balls for you to check out.

Another option you have is to install a Fulton Fas-Lok Coupler # F222500301 by having it welded on. That way you would have a coupler that will work on the 2-1/2 inch channel and is designed for 2 inch hitch balls. Since it would be welded on the bolt hole pattern would not matter. I would recommend having a qualified welder do the welding though.

I attached an FAQ article on trailer couplers for you to check out also.
