Does the Westin HDX Grille Guard Part # 57-3665 Require Trimming on a 2012 GMC Sierra 2500
Question:
Do I have to trim the plastic around the support straps? It doesn’t seem to fit. It’s tight and looks like the bottom of grille is tight as well. Haven’t gotten it on yet. Everything else fits great.

For starters, are you sure that you have the Westin HDX Grille Guard with Punch Plate part # 57-3665? There is more than one HDX Grille Guard and they look the same but are not. The HDX Grille Guard would need to be made specially for your 2012 GMC Sierra 2500 in order for it to fit correctly. The fit also excludes Denali editions.
The reason I ask the above is that there will not be any cutting/trimming or drilling required to install the Westin HDX Grille Guard which you can see in the attached instructions. I recommend verifying that you have the correct grille guard for your vehicle. This particular one will only fit a 2011-2013 GMC Sierra 2500/3500 HD.
