In order to install a Hopkins Reliance Brake Controller on your 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche you will need to first look under the dash next to the emergency brake pedal for a set of four blunt cut wires. They should be taped together and could also have some wire loom on them so you will want to look closely. These wires are for the brake controller and you will need to hardwire them using butt connectors like part # DW05744-5.
The dark blue wire on the vehicle is for the brake output and will need to be attached to the dark blue wire on the brake controller. The red/black wire on the vehicle is for the power and will need to be attached to the black wire on the brake controller. The light blue wire on the vehicle is for the stop light switch and will need to be attached to the red wire on the brake controller and the white wire on the vehicle is for the ground and will need to be attached to the white wire on the brake controller.
