Tip for Helping Drill Hole to Install Curt Hitch # C111891

YES, that’s all I’ve been using. After six hours I hav have a divot half the size of a BB. Any other suggestions?

Have you tried using a smaller drill bit and then graduating up to larger diameter bits till you reach the full 17/32 inch diameter hole that needs to be drilled to install the Curt hitch # C11189.

When we installed this hitch we had to use three different drill sizes to get the hole started. In the attached install video you can see our installer working through that step. The best drill bits for hardened steel are Cobalt ones so I'd recommend trying a small Cobalt bit and working up in size. 6 hours is brutal though. I hope the Cobalt bit works!
