Can a Performance Tuner and Cold Air Intake Lower RPMs for a 2015 Ford F-150 with 3.5L N/A Engine

Question:

I have a 2015 f150 with the 3.5L n/a engine and 6 speed auto trans. The truck has the sport package as well as the tow package. I have a 5 lift and 35 tires. I pull a 7×16 enclosed trailer with 2 full dressed Harleys. Looking to see if cold air intake and programming will help keep rpms down. Current configuration at 70mph, tachs at 4300 rpm in 4th. Wont maintain speed in 5th. Hope you can help. Thanks.

Since you said that your 2015 Ford F-150 has an 3.5L N/A Engine that means you wouldn't have the turbo. We do have programmers available for your application but we don't have any cold air intake systems compatible with your specific pickup.

Out of our available selection I recommend going with the Edge Gas Evolution CTS2 # EP85450. This is a performance tuner that comes with a monitor and can increase your HP by 16 and Torque by 27. When I spoke with my contact at Edge he said that you can't quite change the RPMs directly but you can change the shift points which could potentially allow you to have lower RPMs.

Please note that this is illegal to use in the state of California so if you live or will be traveling through California you will want to use the Superchips Flashpaq 5 # SU4845 instead. This has the same increases as the tuner mentioned above and will also allow you to adjust your shift points.
