What is Spare Tire Width Range of Older and Current Thule SpareMe Bike Rack

Question:

I was just wondering if I upgraded to a bigger tire say Toyo m/t 305/70/r16 would I be able to purchase the extension item # 752-1425-002 and fit it on to my Jeep with the new tire? Would I need to get Item # 852-3305-001 too? I’m worried I’ll purchase these and they won’t fit my model rack. I have the Spare Me 963XT and not the newest pro model. I also need to get a new mounting plate. But I assume the Item # 753-3532 will work with the 986xt as it says so in the specs. Thank you for the help! Bonus you have free pick up near me!!

So the older version of the Thule SpareMe part 963XT that you have can only fit tire widths up to 10 inches and the new version of the SpareME Pro part # TH963PRO can fit widths up to 12-1/2 inches. The tire size you mentioned is rigth at 12 inches in width. I wish there was a way to adapt the new mounting brackets to the old rack but that's not possible. Only solution we have would be to upgrade to the latest version of the bike rack with part # TH963PRO.
