Just need to know if the 36inch models can be a recessed mount?

The Greystone 36" Electric Fireplace with Crystals # 324-000080 that you referenced is designed to fit a hole in a wall that measures 34-1/4" wide x 5-1/2" deep x 16-5/8" tall. There is a flange or lip that goes over the wall surrounding where it installs but this would be considered a recess mount.
